The Uttarakhand government will organize the second Shree Anna  (Millets) Mahotsav in Haldwani on October 14-15 to promote millets products of the state.

The announcement was made by Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi during a review meeting of the Department of Agriculture and Horticulture in Dehradun on Thursday.

Minister Joshi revealed plans for the festival and underscored its significance in promoting sustainable agricultural practices, preserving indigenous crops, and enhancing tourism in the region.

The event aims to build upon the success of the inaugural Millet Festival held in Dehradun, which saw participation from esteemed dignitaries including the Union Agriculture Minister and representatives from various states. As the curtain rises on the second edition of the Shree Anna  Mahotsav, Haldwani is poised to become the epicenter of agricultural innovation, cultural exchange, and tourism expansion.

Acknowledging the potential for boosting tourism through the state’s abundant natural beauty, Minister Joshi instructed his team to provide a comprehensive report on the condition and facilities of the 93 state parks. By promoting eco-tourism and wellness-related activities, the government aims to establish the state as a hub for travelers seeking solace in nature’s embrace.
