Corteva Agriscience launches a new insecticide for aphid control

Corteva Agriscience, a global leader in agriculture, today announced the launch of Spadin™ 11.7% SC (Isoclast™ active), a revolutionary insecticide with a unique mode of action for effective aphid control. This innovative solution offers broad-spectrum activity and extended residual control, making it an ideal choice for protecting crops and maximizing yield potential.

Spadin™ operates differently from traditional insecticides, providing immediate control of aphids upon contact. This unique feature ensures rapid and reliable aphid suppression, leading to a healthier crop and increased yield. Belonging to the novel sulfoximine class of chemicals, Spadin™ delivers outstanding residual control, offering long-lasting protection against aphids even under challenging environmental conditions. This extended efficacy ensures sustained aphid control and protects crops from potential damage throughout the season.

Furthermore, Spadin™ boasts minimal impact on beneficial insects, promoting a healthy and sustainable agricultural ecosystem. Its favorable environmental profile is further enhanced by its rapid degradation in soil and very low acute toxicity to fish and mammals. These features make Spadin™ an excellent addition to integrated pest management (IPM) programs and a preferred alternative to other generic insecticides.

Currently registered for use in wheat, Spadin™ is expected to receive future labels for cotton, greengram, and vegetables. Applied as a foliar spray, it is available in both liquid and water-dispersible granule formulations, offering flexibility and convenience for farmers.
